Infographic Designer

Infographic designers come into the newsroom or work remotely on a given day of the week to design an infographic based on data that is given in a design request. Infographic designers also get job requests such as posters, video thumbnails, social media posts, etc. The design editor in charge of your production day will contact you in the afternoon to send you the design request(s) for the day.

Required skills include familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and/or InDesign (familiarity with Photoshop is optional), though proficiency is highly preferred.

Design is in charge of graphics, illustrations, and page layouts for the newspaper, including inserts such as The Statement, The B-Side and Sports Monday. As a designer, you will enhance your skills with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, receive feedback on your work, and receive valuable hands-on technical and design experience that you cannot get anywhere else on campus.
