Audience Engagement

The Audience Engagement section is in charge of running all of The Daily’s social media accounts (Facebook, X (Formerly Twitter), Instagram and TikTok), writing The Daily’s four newsletters including the Weekly Roundup which is sent to all University of Michigan students and crafting long-term engagement campaigns. Essentially, it is our job to bring The Daily's content to our followers in an engaging way.

Positions

As an Instagram Audience Coordinator, your job will be to schedule and write captions for posts for our Instagram posts and craft our Instagram stories. You will also help create projects and campaigns for Instagram.

Audience Coordinators on the Audience Engagement team help to extend The Daily’s reach and serve as the connection between writers and our readers through writing captions, drafting social media campaigns and assisting in writing the newsletter.

Audience Coordinators will be responsible for working 1-2 nights a week for about 1-2 hours.

No previous experience is necessary to apply. Remote work is available for students who prefer to remain virtual!

The Weekly Roundup delivers the week's top headlines to all 45,000 students at the University of Michigan, with average open rates of over 60%. As a major source of ad revenue for the newspaper, The Daily Daily sends the latest stories to over 1,500 subscribers every weekday morning.

Audience Coordinators on the Audience Engagement team help to extend The Daily’s reach and serve as the connection between writers and our readers through writing captions, drafting social media campaigns and assisting in writing the newsletter.

The Block M is The Michigan Daily's Twitter Account dedicated to U-M athletics. Audience Coordinators for The Block M will write captions for sports articles and play a part in crafting projects for The Block M.
