Michigan in Color

Photographer

Michigan in Color, The Daily's section by and for People of Color, is recruiting talented photographers to capture photos to accompany MiC articles and social media. We also encourage photographers to take their own photos to be featured as solo artistic work on the MiC page — from capturing a basketball game, covering a campus rally, snapping pictures of the flowers in your garden, to sharing the various food spots on campus, we would like you to have creative range. Speedy, reliable communication is crucial. Photographers should be creative and collaborative, and are required to attend weekly MiC meetings to build community and keep staff up-to-date on section information. MiC is a community of truth, and we seek to expand the variety and reach of our knowledge. Come join our family!

Michigan in Color

Hello! We are Michigan in Color — The Daily’s section by and for People of Color. In this space, we invite our contributors to be vulnerable and authentic about our experiences and the important issues in our world today. Our work represents our identities in a way that is both unapologetic and creative. With that being said, MiC encourages creative expression in all its viable forms, welcoming all types of writing, including personal narrative, poetry, editorial, news reports, blog posts, photography and more. We are a community that reclaims our stories on our own terms.
