Staff Reporter

Staff Reporters cover events and other relevant news stories around campus and the city of Ann Arbor. Staff Reporters are generally expected to pick up at least two stories a month, attend weekly section meetings and pitch their own story ideas to the editors!

Since we plan to accept all applicants to the News section, new Staff Reporters will be informed of their acceptance when they finish their two trial stories and meet with the Managing News Editors.

As the only local newspaper published within, and for, the city of Ann Arbor, The Michigan Daily serves members of U-M community and Ann Arborites alike by shedding light on University happenings, city affairs and other relevant events and issues. Daily reporters can interview the University president, report straight from the front lines of local protests or develop long-form investigative pieces for The Daily’s 70,000+ online followers and those who pick up print copies from our newsstands around campus and the city.
