Journalism is evolving — and podcasts are at the forefront of the future of news and storytelling. At The Daily, we’re currently producing six podcast shows: The Daily Weekly, a news podcast exploring issues related to the University, Arts, Interrupted, an arts and pop-culture podcast, Pass the MiC, a Michigan in Color podcast highlighting people of color at the University and in today’s popular culture, Might I add an opinion podcast, Highway to Hail, a sports podcast relating to University athletics, and Last Week at Michigan, a newsletter podcast recapping the biggest stories from the past week. Do you want to get some experience on the mic, or exercise your audio editing skills? From behind-the-scenes episode planning, to post production, The Daily’s Podcast team has a place for you!

The Daily Weekly Content Creator
The Daily Weekly is the news podcast for The Michigan Daily: the University of Michigan’s independent student newspaper. We cover stories relevant to the University, students, and surrounding communities to keep our listeners up-to-date on interesting stories and investigations.

Arts, Interrupted is The Michigan Daily’s premier arts and culture podcast. We aim to engage, analyze and explore local and national music, film, and pop culture.

Audio Engineer
As an Audio Engineer, you’ll be responsible for facilitating recording sessions and editing episodes of at least one the six podcast shows. We’ll teach you how to set up the recording equipment, but experience with Adobe Audition or similar audio editing software is preferred.
