Assistant Editor

 Are you inspired by BuzzFeed, New York Times, or find yourself deep into Vox videos? The Michigan Daily's Video Team is seeking creative individuals passionate about video editing! As an editor, you'll play a vital role in crafting compelling short videos and audio for our YouTube channel, website, and social media platforms.

You'll work on at least one video per month, but there's always room for more if you're eager to edit. Proficiency with editing software is required for this position.

Your role as an editor includes:
* Attending two Tuesday night meetings per month
* Collaborating with a team to edit videos for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram

 With the new age of journalism moving to an online format, video sections play an important role in newsrooms — including ours. Look at Buzzfeed, Vox and the New York Times — they are all finding ways to transform essays of writing into an easily digestible video. At The Michigan Daily, we are striving for just that. We work with all sections to find a way to enhance their content as well as producing our very own. Here with the Video section, you can easily gain some experience filming and editing skills. Plus, there is no previous experience required for videographers. From pre-production to post production of a video, The Daily’s Video team has a place for you!
